Job description
Overview

We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Paramedic to join our clinical team, primarily supporting community-based and housebound patients. You will enhance capacity for same-day care by working under GP supervision to deliver high-quality assessments, treatments, and referrals both remotely and in-person.

Main duties of the job

Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and treatments at first contact (home visits and in-practice). Triage and prioritise patients, including in emergency situations, using a structured clinical approach. Initiate appropriate treatments or referrals based on clinical findings and guidelines. Perform and interpret diagnostic tests to inform decision-making. Use clinical frameworks (e.g. NICE) to guide safe, effective care. Support anticipatory care planning and lead specific services (e.g. monitoring housebound elderly patients for diabetes or hypertension risk). Accurately document patient interactions and care delivered, including adverse events. Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT), including local authority and voluntary sector colleagues. Participate in audits, feedback cycles, and training to ensure safe, high quality service delivery.

About us

Saxonbrook Medical Centre is a progressive, multi-site practice serving over 20,000 patients in Crawley. Our multidisciplinary team includes GPs, Physician Associates, Paramedics, Pharmacists, Nurses, and Healthcare Assistants, supported by an excellent administrative workforce. As a teaching practice, we provide placements for medical students, physician associate students, and student nurses, fostering a culture of growth and continuous learning. We are an active member of our local Primary Care Network and work closely with Social Prescribers, Pharmacists, and First Contact Practitioners.
