Qualifications

  • Desirable training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) or Multi-systemic Therapy (MST).
  • Ability to work clinically supervised and collaboratively across services.
  • Strong communication and training skills.

Job Overview

We are seeking a part‑time Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to support the North Yorkshire & York Community Mental Health Transformation and improve care for people with complex emotional needs. The role will be based in the Harrogate and Rural District area and will largely work in a co‑working model to increase access to psychologically informed care across local community systems.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of high‑quality, evidence‑based interventions for people with complex emotional needs, including severe and multiple disadvantages and substance misuse.
  • Develop and deliver group interventions to system partners and provide supervision, case consultation and liaison for secondary care staff delivering Structured Clinical Management (SCM).
  • Co‑work with other providers to enable early intervention and least restrictive practice, embedding care within the community.
  • Provide support and consultation for the assessment and engagement of individuals presenting with substance misuse, high‑risk behaviours and emotional difficulties.
  • Train and develop capabilities across services, including VCSE, to improve community knowledge and skills.
  • Promote positive, non‑stigmatising attitudes towards service users with complex needs and maintain responsive services.
  • Strengthen links across the local place‑based system and provide support to local, hospital and community teams.
