We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and dedicated Band 7 Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dedicated team. This pivotal role involves providing expert clinical care and holistic support to patients diagnosed with a wide spectrum of haematology conditions including both malignant haematological cancers and non-malignant blood disorders.
The post holder will have responsibility and accountability for supporting patients throughout their diagnostic pathway from initial referral, through treatment, and to patients living with an beyond their cancer diagnosis. Leasing with the multidisciplinary team is also essential and therefore the right candidate must possess advanced communication skills. Maintaining accurate patient records, auditing data and ensuring a safe and patient focused service is also something we strive for.

You will play a key role in delivering consistent, safe and effective nursing care across the entire patient pathway. You will support patients from their initial referral and diagnostic assessment through to treatment, follow up and survivorship or palliative care. Your expert knowledge and clinical skills will ensure that patients and their families receive tailored, high-quality care that addresses their physical, emotional, psychological and social needs.
The haematology team work closely with the Macmillan Suite, Oncology / Haematology ward & wide cancer services team. We are a modern and rapidly developing cancer service supported by forward thinking and supportive management & specialist cancer teams. We firmly believe in providing high quality evidence based holistic care and have both won and been nominated for a number of awards. There are opportunities for adoption by Macmillan Cancer Support and you will be afforded personal and professional opportunities in line with your individual needs, the role will be linked to a wider multidisciplinary team and work closely with Macmillan cancer support.
