Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Derby

Position Type: Contract/Staff

Your Future Team: You will be joining an Embedded Team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop effective solutions to engineering challenges.
2. Evaluate performance, reliability, and safety of final products.
3. Alter and modify design to meet customer requirements.
4. Estimate budget and scope of project.
5. Management of Risk and Opportunity.
6. Prepare product reports and documentation.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the nuclear sector.
• Understanding of mechanical design, safety case, operation, including precision, cleanliness requirements, damage prevention, and Life cycle Engineering (LfE) capture.
• Previous experience with Technical Document Authoring, Substantiation, and Presenting.
• Understanding of Nuclear Health & Safety, including safety case requirements (Safety Functional Requirements, Engineering Schedules, and criticality prevention).
• Previous exposure to Chemical Plant, Gloveboxes, and associated processes is advantageous, along with understanding of Welding, NDT techniques.
• Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcenter or similar).
• Knowledge of engineering analysis tools (MathCAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar).
• BEng or similar professional qualification in an engineering-related field.

Additional Information:

• This role requires the successful candidate to hold (or be able to obtain) a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats.
• The role is UK-based, and candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
