YARD COORDINATOR / LOGISTICS COORDINATOR
SANDIACRE, NOTTINGHAM
UP TO £28,572 DOE
Progress Rail is looking to recruit a Yard Coordinator to control the booking of finished goods & rail along with the transport of product and consumable materials between sites, point of use, and to the customer’s site in line with the customer’s delivery requirements (internal & external).
THE ROLE:
As a Yard Coordinator, you will be required to:
- Coordinate logistical planning and distribution activities for the site and storage sites.
- Maintain department KPIs to ensure improvements can be made and monitored.
- Ensure all finished goods are booked into stock using the ERP system.
- Coordinate subcontract/third-party items on and off-site.
- Support the stores team as required for internal stock locations, cast kits, and loose kits.
- Assist with kitting jobs as per required build schedules and deliveries.
- Undertake stocktakes and PI checks as required.
- Supervise the movement, unloading, and loading of material and goods by both internal and third-party logistics transportation.
- Control the quality and accuracy of all raw material (rail) inward and outward transportation documentation.
- Liaise with customers, transport operators, shipping companies, and other PRSUK sites professionally.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
- Comply with the Company Code of Conduct and take responsibility for health and safety of yourself, colleagues, and the environment.
- Maintain high standards of admin documentation for audit purposes.
- Generate dispatch notes, picking lists, transfer orders, counting journals, and packing lists; ensure correct stock location on the system.
- Ensure safe positioning and loading of transportation materials.
- Communicate issues effectively to manage expectations of teams, customers, and management.
- Deputise for other yard coordinators when required, including travel to other sites.
THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal Yard Coordinator:
- Has experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Possesses good IT skills, especially Excel.
- Is a FLT/Side loader/Crane driver or has a combination of these skills.
- Is flexible with working hours, including shifts.
- Is a team player and remains calm under pressure.
- Displays high trust and integrity.
- Has a keen eye for detail.
- Holds a full driving license.
