Job Title: Fabric Engineer
Location: Musselburgh, Edinburgh
Contract Type: Permanent (Static Site Role)
Hours: Full-Time
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fabric Engineer to work on a static site based in Musselburgh, Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a variety of planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring the site is maintained to a high standard and that all work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Undertake general fabric maintenance and repairs, including joinery, painting, plastering, tiling, and basic plumbing tasks.
- Deliver both planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive works in line with service level requirements.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
- Identify and report defects or potential issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of all works carried out.
- Provide a professional, customer‑focused service at all times.
- Proven experience in a similar fabric maintenance or building services role.
- Multi‑skilled across a range of trades such as joinery, painting, or general building maintenance.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety practices.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CSCS card or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant trade qualification (e.g., City & Guilds or NVQ).
- Basic plumbing or electrical knowledge.
Salary is negotiable and will be dependent on experience.
