Job description

Job Title: Grit Blast Operative (Night Shift)

Location: Droitwich
Shift Pattern: Sunday to Thursday, 9:35 PM 5:45 AM
Pay Rate: GBP12.86 GBP14.47 per hour

Role Summary

We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-focused Grit Blast Operative to join our night shift team. In this role, you'll use compressed air machinery and grit blasting equipment to clean and prepare metal parts to customer specifications. You'll follow detailed work instructions and always maintain a strong focus on safety and quality.

Main Responsibilities
  • Operate grit blasting machinery to clean metal components

  • Set and monitor blast pressure to ensure safe and effective cleaning

  • Load and unload parts securely into machines

  • Follow all health & safety procedures and work instructions

  • Scan parts and update job progress using in-house computer systems

  • Work from data sheets to ensure correct processing of quantities

  • Report defects or equipment issues to the supervisor

  • Maintain a clean and organised work area

  • Adhere to quality control processes and company policies

  • Support team with other duties as needed

Skills & Qualities Required
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines

  • Comfortable with physical, hands-on work

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Basic computer literacy

Preferred Experience
  • Previous use of compressed air machinery

  • Background in casting, automotive, steel, or aerospace environments

  • Experience working with metal components
