Join us as a Noise & Vibration Engineer at our Rosyth site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology alongside some of the most brilliant minds. The Role

As a Noise & Vibration Engineer, you will directly contribute to the assessment and improvement of naval platform performance, helping our customers understand and reduce susceptibility to detection by underwater radiated noise. Day-to-day, you’ll be involved in a mix of field trials, laboratory analysis, modelling, and reporting. You’ll work closely with a high-performing team of engineers and data analysts on diverse projects, including experimental trials on ships and submarines, data acquisition, and technical modelling.

Your responsibilities
  • Conducting noise and vibration measurements on naval platforms
  • Performing data analysis and technical modelling
  • Preparing detailed technical reports and presentations
  • Supporting experimental trials and project planning
  • Travelling to QinetiQ ranges, shipyards, and occasionally overseas
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop new tools and methods
Essential experience
  • Interest in engineering, science, or technical problem-solving
  • Ability to analyse data and identify patterns
  • Comfort working in both field and laboratory environments
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Flexible approach to travel and short-notice deployment

Essential qualifications

  • Practical experience or relevant technical skills

This role is 37 hours per week based at QinetiQ Rosyth. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
