An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Registered Children's Nurse to support the continuing development of the Paediatric Asthma/ Respiratory service at Darent Valley Hospital. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and innovative Registered Children's Nurse with experience in paediatric asthma to join our service to work as part of our specialist nursing team across Paediatrics. .
We have an asthma team offering an excellent service for children and young people within the locality, forging strong links with tertiary services.
Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will work across children's services providing clinical, specialist and holistic support/advice to children and young people.
We are looking for you to apply if you are a motivated clinical senior children's nurse, with knowledge and experience in paediatric asthma, preferably including experience working with young people approaching transition to adult services. You will be working independently running nurse led clinics and also supporting consultant clinics. You will have excellent interpersonal, IT and communication skills with the ability to organise, manage and plan your own workload effectively. You will be dedicated and passionate in your role whilst demonstrating excellent leadership and team working. You will be energetic and dedicated in working as an advocate in support of our children, young people and their families.

You will manage a caseload of children and young people carrying out spirometry within the hospital, and supporting with inhaler technique and care planning. You will be the point of contact for the asthma service.
The role will provide highly specialised support and advice. You will be expected to provide advice and support in relation to management of asthma for children and young people, and will be expected to provide clinical and educational support to staff within the Trust. This will involve reviewing patients on the children's acute ward as well as in the outpatients setting.
