Role Overview:

Trigon Recruitment is seeking a knowledgeable and experiencedChildcare Tutorto deliver engaging 8-week Skills Bootcamp courses across Plymouth and Devon. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tutor to contribute to meaningful adult learning, supporting individuals into employment or further development through sector-specific training. This role will also include limited delivery of Hospitality courses.

The tutor will deliver face-to-face training in community venues to small groups of adult learners (up to 12), focusing on both hospitality and childcare. The programmes include:

• City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership Principles
• NCFE CACHE Level 3 Unit: Preparing to Set Up a Home-Based Childcare Business
• City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering
• Paediatric First Aid Training

The training also embeds employability sessions, covering CV writing, interview skills, and essential workplace soft skills. All learners completing the programme are guaranteed a job interview, arranged in partnership with local employers and supported by the Engagement Officer team.

This role is ideal for a dynamic, organised Childcare Tutor thrives in learner-centred environments and has a genuine passion for supporting adult learners career journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver classroom-based accredited training for Skills Bootcamp learners.
• Develop and adapt learner action plans tailored to individual needs.
• Complete effective initial assessments and monitor learner progress.
• Maintain high-quality teaching, learning and assessment standards.
• Support curriculum planning, resource development and scheme of work creation.
• Mark learner work, provide feedback and maintain accurate records.
• Promote and embed safeguarding, health and safety, and equality practices.
• Engage with learners from enrolment through to progression, offering pastoral support and careers advice.
• Work with internal teams to facilitate employer engagement and job outcomes.
• Market and promote the programme to external stakeholders to recruit learners.
• Attend team meetings, training and contribute to internal CPD.

Essential/Desirable Criteria:

• PGCE or Level 4 teaching qualification.
• Experience delivering adult education or vocational training.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and ICT skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and equality of opportunity.
• Clean driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Willingness to travel across Devon.
• Enhanced DBS (funded by employer).
• Knowledge of the hospitality or childcare sector.
• Experience supporting learners with employability or self-employment skills.
