Youth Justice Officer – Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

Overview

Recognised Professional Qualification in either Social Work, Probation, or Youth Justice and substantial relevant experience in the field are required. The role is hybrid: you will work at least three days per week in Peterborough (Sand Martin House, 49 Lincoln Road, or WFH) to see young people and attend court, while the remaining days can be worked from home.

Pay

£33 per hour – £35 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Manage cases in or at risk of entering the Youth Justice System; assess, plan, intervene, supervise, and enforce disposals for vulnerable children/young people in line with national youth justice, social work and health care legislation, standards, guidance, and local policies.
  • Act as the lead professional where it is in the best interest of the child/young person and family, delivering interventions with a whole-family approach.
  • Lead specific areas of service development and delivery to support the management team in promoting service development and performance improvement.
  • Provide mentoring, support, guidance, supervision to staff and students, and support the induction of new YJS staff.
