Job summary

Academics LTD is recruiting a Year 6 Supply Teacher to support a number of Birmingham schools. The role begins in September 2026 and involves daily supply with potential to become long-term for the right candidate.

We are seeking holders of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong understanding of Key Stage 2, an enhanced DBS on the update service, and a willingness to undertake further training as needed.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, with willingness to train when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and inclusive environment for pupils.

• Collaborate with colleagues and parents to achieve the best outcomes.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress and provide feedback.

This Teaching opportunity starts in September 2026 and is daily work that has the potential to become long-term for the right candidate. Key responsibilities of a Year 6 Teacher include:

• Provide and encourage a safe and inclusive environment for pupils
• Plan and deliver quality lessons relevant to the national curriculum
• Ensure that teaching and lesson plans are adaptable for children with SEND
• Work in collaboration with a range of individuals, including colleagues and parents, to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
• To monitor and assess pupils development

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• A great and relevant understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
• Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service)
• Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed
