Job summary

Academics is seeking a Year 4 Teacher to support several Birmingham schools as a supply teacher starting September 2026. The role offers daily bookings with potential to become longer-term for the right candidate.

You will deliver quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum, support SEND, and collaborate with staff and parents to achieve the best outcomes. QTS or equivalent, KS2 knowledge, and an enhanced DBS with update service are required.

Qualifications

• Strong classroom management and engaging teaching techniques.
• Ability to plan and deliver lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND and adapting plans accordingly.

Responsibilities

We, Academics, are looking for a suitable candidate to support as a Supply Teacher for a number of our reputable schools in Birmingham. This Teaching opportunity starts in September 2026 and is daily work that has the potential to become long-term for the right candidate. This position is ideal for individuals who are seeking a more flexible role at the moment but would be up for a more long-term role in the future.

Key responsibilities of a Year 4 Teacher include:

• Provide and encourage a safe and inclusive environment for pupils
• Plan and deliver quality lessons relevant to the national curriculum
• Ensure that teaching and lesson plans are adaptable for children with SEND
• Work in collaboration with a range of individuals, including colleagues and parents, to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
• To monitor and assess pupils development

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• A great and relevant understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
• Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service)
• Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
