Job summary

Mole Valley Farmers seeks a hardworking Yard Team Member in St Columb to support yard and store operations, stock handling, and maintain external areas with a focus on customer service.

This temporary 3-month role is part-time (25 hours per week on a rota) and pays £10.85–£12.71 per hour. The role reports to the Stock Supervisor and aims to deliver a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in yard, warehouse, or retail preferred.
• Familiarity with agricultural or countryside settings beneficial.
• Forklift truck licence advantageous.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes.
• Good IT skills and confidence using systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Awareness of Data Protection / GDPR and Health & Safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service at the counter and in the yard.
• Receive, check, and load stock accurately and efficiently.
• Support Point of Sale operations when required.
• Maintain external areas to a high standard of presentation.
• Investigate stock discrepancies and support stock reviews.
• Participate in stocktaking and maintain stock file integrity.
• Follow health & safety procedures and UFAS regulations.

We're looking for a hardworking and customer-focused Yard Team Member to support the day-to-day operations of our yard and store. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help maintain a safe, organised, and welcoming environment for our members and customers, while working collaboratively with colleagues across the business.

About The Role

As a Yard Team Member, you’ll play a key role in stock handling, customer service, and maintaining high standards across external areas. You’ll support the Stock Supervisor and wider team to ensure efficient operations and a positive experience for everyone who visits the store.

Key responsibilities

• Delivering excellent customer service at the counter and across the yard
• Receiving, checking, and loading stock accurately and efficiently
• Supporting Point of Sale operations when required
• Maintaining external areas to a high standard of presentation
• Investigating stock discrepancies and supporting seasonal stock reviews
• Participating in stocktaking and maintaining stock file integrity
• Following health & safety procedures and UFAS regulations

About You

• Experience in a yard, warehouse, or retail environment (preferred)
• Familiarity with agricultural or countryside settings (beneficial)
