Job summary

Mole Valley Farmers Limited in Newton Abbot is seeking a Yard Team Member to support the day-to-day yard and store operations. This hands-on role focuses on delivering friendly customer service, stock handling, and maintaining a safe, well-presented external area.

Contract is temporary with part-time hours (9:00–17:30). The pay range is £10.85–£12.71 per hour, with opportunities to work as part of a collaborative team and gain experience in a busy agricultural retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a yard, warehouse, or retail environment (preferred).
• Familiarity with agricultural or countryside settings (beneficial).
• A forklift truck licence (advantageous).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately.
• Good IT skills and confidence using systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Awareness of Data Protection / GDPR and Health & Safety standards.
• You’ll be friendly, self-motivated, and adaptable, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and working as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Delivering excellent customer service at the counter and across the yard
• Receiving, checking, and loading stock accurately and efficiently
• Supporting Point of Sale operations when required
• Maintaining external areas to a high standard of presentation
• Investigating stock discrepancies and supporting seasonal stock reviews
• Participating in stocktaking and maintaining stock file integrity
• Following health & safety procedures and UFAS regulations

Description

We’re looking for a hardworking and customer-focused Yard Team Member to support the day-to-day operations of our yard and store. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help maintain a safe, organised, and welcoming environment for our members and customers, while working collaboratively with colleagues across the business.

About The Role

Hours of Work: 7.5 Hours per week, working 9am - 5.30pm

As a Yard Team Member, you’ll play a key role in stock handling, customer service, and maintaining high standards across external areas. You’ll support the Stock Supervisor and wider team to ensure efficient operations and a positive experience for everyone who visits the store.

Key responsibilities include:
