Job summary

Mole Valley Farmers Limited is seeking a Yard Team Member in Penzance to support day-to-day yard and store operations. This hands-on role involves stock handling and delivering high-quality customer service while working with team members to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

The position is permanent, part-time (30 hours per week on a rota). You will assist in stock control, POS when needed, and upkeep of external areas, contributing to smooth store operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in yard/retail preferred.
• Forklift licence advantageous.
• Good IT proficiency and comfortable using systems.
• GDPR awareness and respecting data privacy.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Delivering excellent customer service at the counter and across the yard.
• Receiving, checking, and loading stock accurately.
• Supporting Point of Sale operations when required.
• Maintaining external areas to a high standard of presentation.
• Investigating stock discrepancies and supporting seasonal stock reviews.
• Participating in stocktaking and maintaining stock file integrity.
• Following health & safety procedures and UFAS regulations.

Yard Team Member

Department: Yard / Feedstore

Compensation: £10.85 - £12.71 / hour

Description

We’re looking for a hardworking and customer-focused Yard Team Member to support the day-to-day operations of our yard and store. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll help maintain a safe, organised, and welcoming environment for our members and customers, while working collaboratively with colleagues across the business.

About The Role

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Part-time

Hours of Work: 30Hours per week, working on a rota basis

As a Yard Team Member, you’ll play a key role in stock handling, customer service, and maintaining high standards across external areas. You’ll support the Stock Supervisor and wider team to ensure efficient operations and a positive experience for everyone who visits the store.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering excellent customer service at the counter and across the yard

About You

• Experience in a yard, warehouse, or retail environment (preferred)
• Familiarity with agricultural or countryside settings (beneficial)
• A forklift truck licence (advantageous)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
• Good IT skills and confidence using systems
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
• Awareness of Data Protection / GDPR and Health & Safety standards
• You’ll be friendly, self‑motivated, and adaptable, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and working as part of a team.
