Job summary

Mole Valley Farmers Limited in Newton Abbot is seeking a reliable Retail Assistant to support yard and store operations on a part-time, temporary basis.

You will handle stock, assist customers at the counter, and help maintain a clean, safe environment across external areas, with two weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in yard/warehouse/retail preferred.
• Familiarity with agricultural or countryside settings beneficial.
• Forklift truck licence advantageous.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes.
• Good IT skills and confidence using systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Awareness of Data Protection / GDPR and Health & Safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Delivering excellent customer service at the counter and across the yard.
• Receiving, checking, and loading stock accurately and efficiently.
• Supporting Point of Sale operations when required.
• Maintaining external areas to a high standard of presentation.
• Investigating stock discrepancies and supporting seasonal stock reviews.
• Participating in stocktaking and maintaining stock file integrity.
• Following health & safety procedures and UFAS regulations.

Description

We’re looking for a hardworking and customer-focused Yard Team Member to support the day-to-day operations of our yard and store. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll help maintain a safe, organised, and welcoming environment for our members and customers, while working collaboratively with colleagues across the business.

About The Role

Contract: Temporary

Hours: Part‑time

Hours of Work: 2 positions available - 7.5 Hours per week, working Saturday from 9:00am to 5.30pm

Hours of Work: 2 positions available - 5.5 Hours per week, working Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm

As a Yard Team Member, you’ll play a key role in stock handling, customer service, and maintaining high standards across external areas. You’ll support the Stock Supervisor and wider team to ensure efficient operations and a positive experience for everyone who visits the store.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering excellent customer service at the counter and across the yard
