Job summary

SMT GB in Duxford, Cambridgeshire, seeks a proactive Workshop Coordinator to support day-to-day workshop operations. You will coordinate labour, materials, and resources, schedule engineer workloads, and manage jobs from creation through invoicing while maintaining compliance and high service standards.

The role requires strong administration, clear communication with customers and engineers, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a workshop, service, maintenance or coordination role.
• Experience scheduling resources and managing service jobs end-to-end.
• Strong administration skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience raising, updating and closing jobs, work orders or service cases.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate labour, materials, and resources to ensure efficient completion of workshop jobs.
• Schedule engineer resources and monitor workshop utilisation and efficiency.
• Manage cases from creation through to invoicing, ensuring costs are accurate and fully justified.
• Maintain regular communication with customers, providing updates and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
• Monitor job performance, response times, invoicing, and closure targets.
• Ensure purchase order processes are followed and job costs are controlled effectively.
• Support compliance activities, including SHEQ requirements, incident reporting, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
• Support engineer development activities and training compliance.
• Escalate technical, operational, or customer-related issues to ensure timely resolution.
