Job summary

SMT GB is seeking a proactive Workshop Coordinator to support the day-to-day operation of the workshop. You will coordinate labour, materials and resources, track jobs from creation to invoicing, and ensure efficient scheduling and cost control.

This fast-paced role requires strong administration, superb communication, and a commitment to service excellence. You will work closely with the Service Delivery Manager and engineering teams to deliver high standards of compliance and customer

Qualifications

• Experience in workshop/service/maintenance coordination.
• Experience scheduling resources and managing service jobs end-to-end.
• Strong admin skills with attention to detail.
• Experience raising/updating/closing jobs or service cases.
• Customer-focused with confident communication with stakeholders.
• Understanding of labour, parts and job costing principles.
• Proficient IT skills and MS Office use.
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
• Commitment to safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate labour, materials and resources for workshop jobs.
• Schedule engineer resources and monitor workshop utilisation.
• Manage jobs from creation to invoicing with cost controls.
• Maintain regular communication with customers and provide updates.
• Monitor performance, response times, invoicing and closure targets.
• Ensure purchase order processes are followed and costs are controlled.
• Support SHEQ/compliance activities and risk assessments.
• Assist engineer development and training compliance.
• Escalate issues to ensure timely resolution.
