Position: Workshop Manager

Location: Leeds, Greater Leeds

Salary: £45-55K

We're looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead the technical delivery and day-to-day operation of our engine department. This is a hands‑on role, combining engine build work with team leadership, scheduling, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do
  • Own delivery of engine rebuilds and refreshes to schedule and quality targets
  • Be hands‑on with engine builds when required
  • Set and manage the workshop plan, resources, and priorities
  • Lead engine failure analysis and non‑conformance actions
  • Manage dyno operations, ECU/data analysis, and technical support
  • Drive department efficiency, productivity, and H&S standards
  • Lead, develop, and performance‑manage the engine team
  • Create and maintain SOPs, quality standards, and training plans
  • Work closely with R&D, production, quality, and operations
What we’re looking for
  • Hands‑on experience building, rebuilding, and tuning automotive engines
  • Proven workshop leadership or management experience in a main dealership or similar environment
  • Strong diagnostic skills, including data analysis
  • Confident communicator with a practical, delivery‑focused mindset
  • Comfortable using ERP systems and MS Office
