Job summary

Allen Motor Group are looking to recruit a Workshop Controller to oversee the allocation and supervision of work in our Ford dealership in Warwick. The role is a full-time permanent position on a 46.33 hour contract Monday–Friday with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, paying £31,000 to £40,000 per year.

The successful candidate will report to the Aftersales Manager and lead technicians to ensure efficient, high-quality service while maintaining safety standards and productive customer communications.

Qualifications

• Experience as Workshop Controller or Vehicle Technician within an automotive environment.
• Background in Kerridge preferable.
• Strong communication skills required.
• IT literate with good problem solving and time management.

Responsibilities

• Allocate and supervise workshop workload to technicians.
• Ensure service and repairs meet high quality standards.
• Lead and coach the service team to increase competencies.
• Maintain health and safety procedures and liaise with service advisors on repair timelines.

Allen Motor Group are currently looking to recruit a Workshop Controller to be responsible for the allocation and supervision of work throughout the workshop and ensuring the required number of labour hours are worked efficiently daily at our Ford dealership in Warwick. This position is offered on a full-time permanent 46.33 hour contract Monday – Friday with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, paying £31,000 to £40,000 and reports directly to the Aftersales Manager.

Required Skills & Experience

To be considered for this position you will have working experience as either a Workshop Controller or Vehicle Technician within an automotive environment and ideally a background in using Kerridge. We are looking for individuals that possess the following attributes:

• Strong communication skills
• IT literate
• Problem solving skills within the role parameters, understanding when to escape issues
• Fantastic time keeping and a strong sense of urgency

Key Responsibilities And Duties

• Ensure service and repairs are carried out to the highest standards of quality
• Lead, motivate and allocate work to the technicians
• Ensure health and safety procedures are observed and always maintained
• Actively coach and develop the service team to increase individual competenciesLiaise with the service advisors as to when repairs are due to be completed, ensuring the customer is kept up to date
