Job summary

Majestic Wine in Amersham is seeking a dynamic Trainee Manager to join a 12-month development programme that builds understanding and experience in operational, service and leadership standards for a future Majestic Store Manager.

As a Trainee Manager you will work through the career pathway with the Store Manager's support, setting you up for long-term success and progression within Majestic Wine across our store network.

Qualifications

• Experience of working as part of a team in a fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environment.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience & service to every single customer.
• Prioritise and strategically problem solve in high pressure environments.
• Self-motivated, able to thrive when working alone and as part of a team.
• Can-do attitude with a passion for seeing problems through to solutions.
• Adaptable and resilient to meet the ever-changing demands of our business.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Wine knowledge is beneficial but passion to learn more is essential to pass level 2 & 3 WSET wine qualifications.
• Hold a full UK, manual transmission driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and KPI performance.
• Deliver exceptional market leading customer service to drive growth and loyalty.
• Offer VIP concierge service, proactively updating customers on products and tastings.
• Sell the story, sharing knowledge of our range and managing tastings and events.
• Develop wine knowledge to support WSET qualifications and confident selling.
• Maintain the store’s appearance and upkeep both inside and outside.
• Be involved in all day-to-day operations from stock deliveries to customer calls.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and compliance.
• Take ownership of your development with Majestic’s training resources.
• Serve as a role model for Majestic’s Ways of Working and support junior staff.
