Job summary

Majestic Wine in Oxford is seeking a dynamic Trainee Manager to join a 12-month development programme that blends operations, service and leadership training to prepare you for future Store Manager responsibilities.

You'll drive store performance, deliver outstanding customer service, learn wine knowledge, and participate in tasting events while rotating through store duties.

The role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends, and driving a company van with a full UK licence.

Qualifications

• Experience of working as part of a team in a fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environment.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience & service to every customer.
• Ability to prioritise and problem-solve in high pressure environments.
• Self-motivated, able to work alone and as part of a team.
• A can-do attitude with a passion for solving problems.
• Adaptable and resilient to changing business demands.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Wine knowledge is beneficial with a willingness to pass WSET levels 2 & 3.
• Hold a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months with ≤6 penalty points

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and improving KPI focus.
• Deliver market-leading customer service to drive loyalty and repeat purchases.
• Act as an ambassador for the store and support junior team members.
• Support wine knowledge growth and lead tasting events and counters.
• Ensure store appearance and housekeeping meet Majestic standards.
• Assist with day-to-day operations including deliveries and stock management.
• Be adaptable to travel between Oxford stores as needed.
