Job summary

Majestic Wine in Oxford is seeking a dynamic Trainee Manager for a 12‑month development programme that builds a foundation in store operations, service standards and leadership. You will work with the Store Manager to prepare for future store management responsibilities.

You will drive store performance, deliver VIP customer service, and develop product knowledge through our comprehensive training. A 44‑hour week, driving responsibilities and flexibility to travel between nearby stores are

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environments.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service.
• Proven ability to prioritise and solve problems under pressure.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• WSET knowledge beneficial; passion to learn levels 2 & 3.

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by maximizing sales opportunities and KPIs.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to drive loyalty and repeat purchases.
• Act as an ambassador for the store and support the team to run operations smoothly.
• Share product knowledge and manage tasting counter and events.
• Take ownership of wine knowledge and pursue WSET qualifications.
• Ensure store presentation is maintained and compliant with internal policies.
• Support day-to-day operations including deliveries and stock management.
