Job summary

Majestic Wine Derby is seeking a dynamic Trainee Manager to join our UK wine specialist team. You will embark on a 12-month development programme to learn operational, service and leadership standards with the goal of becoming a Store Manager.

You will drive sales, deliver exceptional customer service and build product knowledge toward WSET qualifications, while maintaining store standards. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends and travel between stores is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced retail or hospitality environments.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service.
• Ability to prioritise and solve problems under pressure.
• Self-motivated; capable of working alone or in a team.
• Commitment to learning and development (WSET level 2 & 3 desirable).
• Flexible attitude with willingness to travel between stores.

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and KPI improvement.
• Deliver market-leading customer service to grow loyalty and repeat purchases.
• Provide VIP concierge service and proactively contact customers about products and tastings.
• Develop product knowledge and manage tasting events and counter presentation.
• Own wine knowledge development and pursue WSET qualifications.
• Maintain store appearance and upkeep, both internally and externally.
• Participate in day-to-day operations including deliveries, stock, and calls to customers.
• Identify improvements to optimise store operations and comply with policies.
