About the Role

This is an entry‑level fundraising position that offers full training and travel to venues in your local area. You will use a company van to set up an eye‑catching stand, engage the public in conversations about conservation, and inspire new members through regular direct‑debit support. The role requires resilience, an ability to bounce back from rejection, and a passion for nature. You will be an ambassador for wildlife, often outdoors and on your feet, and will apply a focused, “give‑back” mindset to each encounter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to venues using the company van, with fuel and parking covered.
  • Set up an eye‑catching, informative fundraising stand.
  • Engage members of the public in meaningful conversations about conservation.
  • Inspire visitors to become members through regular direct‑debit support.
  • Work outdoor, often alone, and be comfortable with occasional long days.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A passion for people and a belief in the power of conservation (training provided).
  • Resilience: the ability to face rejection and keep going with positivity.
  • Confidence speaking to strangers and working towards clear targets.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in any given month.
  • Willingness to travel up to an hour from home each way every day.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and often alone.
  • Fundraising, sales, or customer service experience (training provided).

Additional Information

Full training and support will be provided at RSPB HQ, Sandy, Bedfordshire (travel and accommodation covered). The role is not eligible for UK Visa sponsorship; the successful applicant must have a pre‑existing Right to Work in the UK.
