Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council's Libraries in Wendover are seeking a passionate Library Resources Officer to join Wendover Library on a part-time basis. 17.5 hours per week with a pattern including Monday, Tuesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday afternoons, plus alternating Saturdays.

You will deliver friendly customer service, open/close the library, manage stock and support volunteers, building partnerships to develop the library as a community hub and promoting Library Flex services.

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering high-quality customer service in a public-facing environment.
• Ability to work as part of a team and supervise volunteers or staff where required.
• Ability to promote digital services and support users with technology.

Responsibilities

• Directly deliver library services to customers and resolve complex enquiries escalated by volunteers.
• Open and close the library, ensuring the building is in good order and health and safety checks are carried out.
• Develop the library as a community hub through partnerships and events, focusing on cultural participation and wellbeing.
• Support in marketing Library Flex and train library users in its usage, including site inductions.
• Supervise volunteers and trustees, maintain stock and assist with service delivery across locations as needed.
