Job summary

Dorset Council’s Library Service is seeking a proactive Customer Advisor to support lifelong learning, digital engagement and inclusive access to resources across Wimborne, Corfe Mullen, Lytchett Matravers and Upton. You will deliver high standards of customer service, assist users with physical and online resources, promote council services, and help run events and workshops that connect communities.

The role is part-time (19 hours) with pro rata salary; travel across sites required; we welcome

Qualifications

Good IT skills including MS Office and basic digital platforms.
Nice to have experience in a public service or library setting.
Experience delivering customer-focused services.

Responsibilities

Deliver high standards of customer service and manage day-to-day service offers.
Assist users in accessing physical and online resources and promote services.
Personalise interactions and promote council services to meet community needs.
Support digital engagement by helping users with self-service terminals and public computers.
Organise and deliver activities and events across sites and outreach.
Ensure the library remains a trusted, accessible space and manage bookings.
Contribute to marketing and outreach of library services across locations.
