Job Title : MIG Welder

Opportunity

Ford and Stanley have collaborated with the UK’s only independent rail wagon manufacturer, with over 100 years of expertise in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of freight wagons and bespoke containers. They are renowned for delivering high-quality engineering solutions to the rail industry.

Role

To carry out skilled welding and fabrication tasks in support of wagon manufacture and repair, ensuring all work meets required safety, quality, and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform MIG welding on rail wagons and associated components.

Fabricate and weld mild steel plate (3mm–35mm thickness) depending on component requirements.

Read and interpret technical drawings to deliver precise fabrication and assembly.

Carry out basic assembly tasks as required.

Maintain tools and equipment in good working order to support production.

Collaborate with the production team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Ensure compliance with safety procedures and quality management systems at all times.

Undertake modifications and repairs to wagons and bespoke containers as required.
