The National Trust’s Belton Estate seeks a personable team member to welcome visitors and ensure an excellent day out. You’ll support the Welcome Manager and a busy team across the property, with opportunities to raise funds and recruit members.
Ideal candidates have visitor services experience, a proactive attitude, and confidence in IT (Microsoft Office). The role offers a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.
You’ll be based at the Belton Estate, a classic country estate established and developed over three centuries by the Brownlow family. Celebrated for its Carolean-style architecture, ancient deer park, expansive gardens, and family-friendly activities, Belton welcomed over 430,000 visitors in 2025. Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you’ll join a large, busy team who work across the property to welcome visitors, grow support, and help care for this special place. With lots going on, you can guarantee no day will be the same. What you’ll be doing You’ll be making sure everyone has the best experience of visiting the Belton Estate. Your warmth, your care, your high standards and your attention to detail can make all the difference to a visitor’s day. You’ll support your team and help to solve problems on a daily basis. You’ll know how to turn around a challenging situation, and you’ll be helping your team to do the same. You’ll be involved in compiling staff rotas, supervising staff, managing volunteers, and supporting the Welcome Manager in ensuring the smooth running of our Visitor & Information Hub. You’ll also be raising funds and encouraging people to join the Trust as members, always aware of how crucial these goals are to the Trust’s cause. By sharing your knowledge of our work both here and throughout the Trust, you’ll help people to see how vital their contribution can be.
