Job summary

The National Trust is seeking a Welcome Manager for Newark Park to lead our welcome and service team and volunteers. This permanent role is based on annualised hours with a salary pro rata of £23,477.28 (FTE £27,612 per annum).

Hours total 1658 per year, with weekend/bank holiday work and paid monthly across the year. You will supervise staff and volunteers, act as duty manager, handle safeguarding, cash and security, and ensure the best possible day for every visitor.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the welcome and service team and volunteers.
  • Ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly in the welcome area.
  • Inspire and care for the team to deliver high service standards.
  • Help grow the charitable income through excellent guest experience.
  • Act as duty manager, safeguarding, cash tills, fire and evacuation.
  • Be the main contact for staff, volunteers and visitors in emergencies or complaints.

Summary

We’re looking for someone with a gift for helping everyone to feel welcome to join us as a Welcome Manager at Newark Park, leading our small but vital welcome team.

Salary: £23,477.28 pro rata (FTE £27,612 per annum)

Contract: Permanent

Hours/ working pattern: 1658 hours per year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.

The role involves regular weekend and bank holiday working.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll lead and manage our team of welcome and service team members and volunteers. You’ll be responsible for making sure that day-to-day operations run smoothly in the all-important welcome area. You’ll inspire and care for your team, encouraging them to give the highest standards of service and to help grow our charitable income. You and your team will be focused on helping everyone you meet to have their best possible day, whatever it takes.

You'll regularly act as duty manager for the whole site, with specific responsibilities including safeguarding, cash and tills, fire, security and evacuation. You'll be the main point of contact for staff, volunteers and visitors in case of emergency, enquiries or complaints.
