Job summary
The National Trust is seeking a Welcome Manager for Newark Park to lead our welcome and service team and volunteers. This permanent role is based on annualised hours with a salary pro rata of £23,477.28 (FTE £27,612 per annum).
Hours total 1658 per year, with weekend/bank holiday work and paid monthly across the year. You will supervise staff and volunteers, act as duty manager, handle safeguarding, cash and security, and ensure the best possible day for every visitor.
Qualifications
- Experience in visitor services, tourism, heritage or similar settings.
- Naturally curious about people and committed to high standards of service.
- Highly organised with strong leadership abilities.
- Confident leader capable of managing a team.
- Adept at managing financial performance.
- Resilient, adaptable and able to work under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the welcome and service team and volunteers.
- Ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly in the welcome area.
- Inspire and care for the team to deliver high service standards.
- Help grow the charitable income through excellent guest experience.
- Act as duty manager, safeguarding, cash tills, fire and evacuation.
- Be the main contact for staff, volunteers and visitors in emergencies or complaints.
