Job summary

Blue Cross in Thirsk is recruiting two Pet Welfare Assistants for our on-site Rehoming & Foster­ing team. These permanent roles are 7.5 hours per week, one on Saturdays and one on Sundays.

You will care for pets, perform welfare assessments, and help prepare them for adoption or rehoming. Applicants with experience with domestic animals or welfare settings, good written and spoken communication, and a full driving licence are invited to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with domestic animals or animal welfare environment.
• Customer-focused experience and high level of customer satisfaction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational and administration skills, including computerised systems.
• Current full manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and care for pets in our care, conduct welfare assessments and rehabilitation plans.
• Record information, complete paperwork, and communicate with owners and adopters.
• Work with the Adoptions Coordinator to advise new owners and support ongoing care.
• Support on-site and in fostering networks to find loving homes.
