Job summary
Blue Cross in Thirsk is seeking an Assistant Manager - Off-site Services to lead our home-based pet operations and support the adoption journey.
You'll oversee daily activities, mentor a team of Pet Welfare Assistants & Foster Coordinators, coordinate assessments and training, and ensure pet welfare and client service standards.
This full-time role (37.5 hours/wk) includes weekend rota, on-site accommodation for pets, and night checks when needed, with a reward-driven, compassionate workplace.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in managing a team.
- Significant experience delivering high-level customer service.
- Extensive knowledge of pet welfare and handling of domestic animals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Current full driving licence.
- Ability to apply Blue Cross values.
Responsibilities
- Lead our home-based pet operations team to ensure high welfare and timely adoptions.
- Oversee daily activities, pet handling, assessments, and behaviour management.
- Train and support Foster Coordinators and Pet Welfare Assistants.
- Achieve adoption targets while maintaining compliance with national processes.
- Rota for on-site night checks and weekend coverage as needed.
