Job summary

Blue Cross in Bromsgrove is seeking a Pet Welfare Assistant for our on-site rehoming and fostering team. You will care for pets, perform assessments, and help with rehabilitation plans to ready them for adoption.

The role is 22.5 hours per week (Fri, Sat, Sun) with on-site accommodation and full driving licence requirements. You will record data, liaise with owners, and support new homes while volunteers assist the team.

Qualifications

• Experience with domestic animals or animal welfare work.
• Customer-focused background with strong communication skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Good organisation and administration skills, including computerised systems.
• Hold a current full manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Care for pets in the preparation stage and support rehabilitation plans.
• Assess animals and assist with adoption readiness and owner handovers.
• Record information accurately and complete paperwork for each case.
• Provide in-person or virtual advice with the Adoptions Coordinator.
• Demonstrate welfare and behavioural guidance to future owners.
