Overview

Aramark UK are currently recruiting for a Weekend General Service Assistant in their Defence sector to be a part of our integral team at Alanbrooke Barracks, Thirsk. As a Weekend General Assistant in the Junior Ranks Mess (Retail), you will mainly be working front-of-house, supporting day-to-day operations by serving food and beverages to customers in the Premier/Costa, alongside till work, cleaning dining areas and supporting both front and back of house areas. You will provide excellent customer service and report to the General Manager on site.

You must be eligible to work in the UK and have resided in-country for more than 3 years. Security checks are required for this role.

  • We are offering a part time, permanent position. You will be working 10 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday only. Shift times are typically 0930 - 1430.
  • The hourly rate is £12.21.

A day in the life of a Weekend General Service Assistant
  • You will be serving food and beverages to customers, ensuring all health and safety protocols are adhered to and excellent customer service is always provided.
  • Stocking up, stock rotation, facing up, spot cleaning, cleaning dining and serving areas, both front and back of house and assisting with stock takes.
  • Operating the till and processing cash and card payments, ensuring you process any financial records accordingly. You will also be serving on the food counters and upselling products/sizes.
You will be set up for success if you have
  • Previous customer facing / food service experience is desirable, however full training will be given on site.
  • For this role you must be 18+
  • Must have eligibility to work in the UK and have resided for longer than 3 years. Security checks are required for this role
  • Must have reliable transport due to the location of the site and limited public transport.
