Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Waterfront Multi Skilled Operative - Lift Supervisor to oversee lifting operations at HMNB Clyde, near Helensburgh. The role focuses on safe lifting, adherence to LOLER/BS7121 standards, and supervising a lifting crew in line with approved lift plans and Safe System of Work.

The position is full-time and on site at Faslane, with responsibilities including maintenance support for waterfront activities and ensuring KPIs for heavy lifts are met.

Qualifications

• LOLER, BS7121 and related regs knowledge.
• Experience operating base Mobile Cranes.
• Experience with Service Logistic Derricks (SLD) on Valiant Jetty.
• Experience with EOT cranes in Shiplift Facility.
• Ability to operate Diesel Counterbalance Forklifts.
• Knowledge of Waterfront operations (berthing, slipping).

Responsibilities

• Provide MSO support and lifting supervisor duties as directed.
• Supervise safe lifting following lift plans and Safe System of Work.
• Suggest process improvements to boost productivity.
• Mentor lifting team members per Appointed Person.
• Report non-conformances and incidents to management.
