Babcock is seeking a Waterfront Multi Skilled Operative – Mobile Crane Operator to be based at HMNB Clyde near Helensburgh. The role focuses on heavy-lift crane operations, strict safety adherence, and contributing to critical national defence projects.

You will operate and maintain mobile cranes, assist with berthing, and perform monthly maintenance to ensure reliability and KPI achievement. A challenging, important role in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sling operations.
• Experience in heavy-lift or similar environments.
• Ability to follow strict safety standards and procedures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Adaptability to varied operational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mobile cranes in line with lift plans and safety regulations.
• Set up, operate, and de-rig cranes per SOPs and safety protocols.
• Support vessel berthing and slipping evolutions, including heavy-lift tasks.
• Assist with planned maintenance and defect rectification to meet KPIs.
• Perform monthly maintenance routines on mobile cranes.
