Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Mobile Crane Operator at HMNB Clyde, near Helensburgh, to perform critical heavy-lift operations in a safety-driven environment. This role supports naval assets and requires hands-on crane operation and strict adherence to lift plans.

The successful candidate will be experienced in heavy-lift work, follow SOPs, and work as part of a coordinated team in a challenging defence setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of slinging operations.
• Experience in heavy-lift or similar environments.
• Ability to follow strict safety standards and procedures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Adaptability to varied operational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operating and maintaining mobile cranes in line with lift plans and safety regs.
• Setting up, operating, and de-rigging cranes per SOPs and safety protocols.
• Supporting vessel berthing and slipping evolutions, including heavy-lift tasks.
• Assisting with planned maintenance and defect rectification to meet KPIs.
• Performing monthly maintenance routines on mobile cranes.
