Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Lift Supervisor to lead lifting operations at HM Naval Base Clyde near Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute. You will supervise lifts, ensure compliance with LOLER and BS 7121, and work within approved plans to deliver safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of LOLER, BS 7121 and relevant lifting regulations and best practices.
• Experience supervising lifting operations in complex industrial, engineering, marine, naval or heavy engineering environments.
• Understanding of safe systems of work, health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans and apply lifting method statements and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Supervising lifting operations in line with approved lifting plans and safe systems of work.
• Ensuring compliance with LOLER, BS 7121 and site procedures.
• Reviewing lifting method statements, risk assessments and instructions from Appointed Persons.
• Monitoring lifting activities and reporting non-conformances, incidents and hazards.
• Coaching and mentoring colleagues and supporting competence development.
