Job summary

Arcadis in the United Kingdom seeks a Principal/Senior Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams on major water projects, guiding design through the life cycle and delivering technically excellent outcomes for AMP8 programmes.

You will collaborate with clients, partners and supply chain, manage resources and commercial aspects, mentor staff, and drive safety, innovation and sustainability across projects.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a professional institution.
• Extensive water industry experience and leadership capabilities.
• Proven contract, commercial, project & programme management experience.
• Experience with complex design and delivery frameworks / design & build.
• Digitally curious and proficient; excellent communicator at all levels.
• Demonstrable experience building and sustaining high-performing teams.
• Aligned with Arcadis vision and values.

Responsibilities

• Technically lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary wastewater or water treatment projects across the design life cycle.
• Collaborate with clients, partners and supply chain to maintain high-quality, innovative design.
• Build and sustain resource for delivery and support recruitment needs.
• Work with Framework Director, Project Manager and Commercial team to manage programme and profitability.
• Provide line management, career direction and mentorship to team members.
• Promote a culture of Safety, Health, Quality and Sustainability and continuous improvement.
• Foster collaboration across Arcadis teams to share knowledge and best practices.
• Perform other duties as required by Client Manager or Arcadis Senior Leadership.
