Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to lead multidisciplinary teams across clean water and wastewater projects in the UK water sector, delivering major framework programmes and shaping the future of the industry.

You will provide technical direction, build strong client relationships, and help drive successful delivery while progressing toward senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with ICE/CIWEM/IWO.
• A technical leader able to provide direction and motivate a diverse team.
• Experience on complex design and delivery frameworks and/or design and build projects.
• Digitally curious and/or proficient.
• Effective communication with partner organisations across disciplines.
• A working knowledge of project and programme management with contract/commercial understanding.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects and/or multi-scheme programmes of work.
• Build and retain collaborative relationships with the client, stakeholders and other design disciplines
• Manage quality processes and technical assurance in line with company systems
• Plan, direct and control tasks, people, resources and outputs
• Provide technical leadership and direction, developing team potential and championing quality, innovation
• Undertake Line Manager duties and pastoral care to team members
• Contribute to the resolution of project issues and provide guidance to other team members
• Promote a culture that is proactive on Safety, Health, Quality and Sustainability matters
• Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement systems
• Work with other Arcadis teams to foster collaboration
