Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead multidisciplinary teams within our Water practice in the UK. You will drive technical direction, build strong client relationships and shape delivery across major clean water and wastewater programmes.

The role offers opportunities to influence strategic outcomes, contribute to framework programmes, and progress toward senior leadership positions within Arcadis. You will mentor staff and foster a culture of safety and innovation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a professional institution.
• Able to lead diverse multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience on complex design and delivery frameworks or design and build projects.
• Digitally curious and proficient in modern tools.
• Strong communication across partner organisations and disciplines.
• Knowledge of project and programme management with commercial understanding.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects and/or multi-scheme programmes.
• Build and retain collaborative relationships with client, stakeholders and other disciplines.
• Manage quality processes and technical assurance in line with company systems.
• Plan, direct and control tasks, people, resources and outputs.
• Provide technical leadership and develop team members to their full potential.
• Undertake Line Manager duties and pastoral care to team members.
• Contribute to resolution of project issues and guidance across team.
• Promote proactive safety, health, quality and sustainability culture.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement in engineering technology.
• Collaborate with other Arcadis teams to share knowledge and experience.
