Job summary

Arcadis UK is seeking a Principal or Senior Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams on wastewater and water infrastructure projects, guiding design through the lifecycle with technical excellence. You will drive client relationships and ensure robust delivery across major schemes.

In this senior role you will manage resources, deliver profitable outputs, and champion safety, sustainability, and innovation while collaborating with the Framework Director, Project Manager and Commercial team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process Engineering or related field.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a recognised institution.
• Water industry experience.
• Ability to lead, manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Extensive experience in contract, commercial, project and programme management.
• Digital literacy and strong communication across organisations.

Responsibilities

• Technically lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary projects and programmes throughout the design life cycle.
• Collaborate with clients, partners and supply chain to maintain Arcadis' reputation for high quality design.
• Build and sustain resources for delivery and support recruitment needs.
• Work with the Framework Director, Project Manager and Commercial team to manage the programme, ensure commercial rigour and profitability.
• Provide line management and career direction to team members, fostering development and a high quality culture.
• Promote safety, health, quality and sustainability in all activities.
• Foster innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practices.
• Collaborate with other Arcadis teams to share knowledge and expertise.
