Job summary

Thames Water seeks a Mechanical Engineer/Technician to work at Ashford Common. You’ll inspect, maintain and repair mechanical plant and equipment, diagnose faults, and support the team to ensure continuous site operations. A time-served background with NVQ/C&G Level 3 in mechanical engineering is preferred, plus a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent with substantial mechanical experience.
• NVQ or C&G Level 3 in mechanical engineering.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; good HSE awareness.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, fault-diagnose, test, install, modify or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment.
• Investigate and repair mechanical plant failures to minimise customer impact.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance to improve plant resilience and provide technical guidance to the team.
