Job summary

Thames Water is recruiting a Mechanical Technician to join the Maintenance team at Mill Green STW. You will ensure equipment is safe and running efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance to keep the site operating.

The role involves investigating plant faults, providing technical advice, and working on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps and control gear. A valid driving licence and an ONC/HNC in engineering are essential.

Qualifications

• ONC/HNC in engineering or equivalent qualification (Mechanical Engineering) is essential.
• Knowledge of health and safety issues is essential.
• Must have a valid driving licence and be physically fit to work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Investigate plant failures and perform repairs quickly to avoid process interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and support for technical trainees as required.
• Work on equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps and control gear.
• Complete statutory checks and adhere to health and safety guidance.
