Job summary

Pertemps is seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Technician based at Farmoor, Oxford. You will inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install and repair mechanical plant and electrical equipment to keep sites operational for Thames Water customers.

You should have an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent (ONC/HNC, NVQ or C&G L3) with upskilling in mechanical NVQ. A driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Time-served in electrical apprenticeship with multi-skilled capabilities.
• Upskilled with mechanical qualifications to inspect and repair plant.
• Willing to develop dual-skilled status from electrical or mechanical background.
• Knowledge of health and safety issues.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Investigate plant failures and perform repairs to avoid process interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and training to trainees when required.
• Work with pumps, motors, control gear, VSDs, valves and sensors.
• Participate in standby rota after training.
