Job summary

Scottish Water is recruiting a Network Maintenance Operator (NMO) to join our Sewer response team in Lanarkshire. This is a field-based, 35-hour week with overtime and standby payments, offering 38 days' annual leave, a defined benefit pension and full training with PPE and a dedicated van.

You’ll work in a 24/7 service, handling on-site investigations and repairs to keep water flowing. You'll need a full UK driving licence, resilience outdoors in all conditions, and a practical,

Qualifications

• A full UK-issued driving licence.
• Willingness to work outdoors, in all weathers.
• Calm, practical approach when dealing with customers and unexpected situations.
• Ability to work safely and follow procedures at all times.
• Basic IT skills, using mobile devices to receive updates and record work.
• Experience in utilities, street works, construction, groundworks, plant or machinery-based roles welcome.
• Qualifications like NRSWA, DOMS or HCOP, CPCS 180/360, or an HGV licence are helpful - full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine checks and maintenance on the drainage network.
• Investigate reports or issues on the ground and keep water flowing.
• Take control on site, carry out repairs, identify bursts and provide short-term solutions.
• Check plant, equipment and vehicles and record work using mobile systems.
• Work safely following Chapter 8 and NRSWA requirements, identifying and managing risks.
