Job summary

Scottish Water is seeking Network Maintenance Operators to join our Sewer response team in Lanarkshire. This field-based role delivers essential public service, with a 35-hour week, overtime and standby payments, and comprehensive training.

You will inspect the drainage network, respond to issues, and keep customers informed while maintaining safety and vehicle checks. A full UK driving licence and ability to work outdoors are essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weathers.
• Calm, practical approach when dealing with customers and unexpected situations.
• Basic IT skills to receive updates and record work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine checks and maintenance on the drainage network.
• Investigate issues reported by customers or control centre and resolve to keep water flowing.
• Take control on site, use equipment training provided to repair, identify bursts and implement short-term solutions.
• Record work, performance and updates using mobile systems; follow safety procedures.
