Job summary

Network Plus is hiring a digging supervisor to lead on-site teams under the United Utilities contract. You will ensure safe operations, drive first-time quality, and coordinate with scheduling to deliver on programme aims.

Training and development opportunities are available for the right candidate. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, manage resources, and support health and safety oversight across the work sites.

Qualifications

• NRWSA supervisory level qualification or equivalent.
• Good health and safety knowledge.
• IOSH beneficial (not essential).
• Firm understanding of "right first time" approach.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Shea Water EUSR Blue Card.
• Avoidance of underground utilities.

Responsibilities

• Operational responsibility for the digging teams and their in-day activities.
• Organise labour cost-effectively, including recruitment, disciplinary action, wages and absence management.
• Manage materials and plant resources.
• Carry out monthly team briefings.
• Coach and develop staff to reach potential and maintain a fair culture.
• Help manage frame and cover programme and ensure KPIs.
• Help manage defect programme and ensure KPIs and highway meetings.
• Use GARD system to monitor quality and drive positive behaviours.
• Liaise with Support Services and Street Works Team re FPN and Section74 liabilities.
• Complete Team Inspections to uphold quality and first-time reinstatement quality.
• Act as Health & Safety Representative and conduct safety inspections.
